Home Based Business Reviews

affiliate-marketing-chartThere are several companies and products out there that say they will teach you how to make money online.  Some of these are legitimate, and others are simply a waste of time and money.  In general, the ones who promise you can get rich quick, and do little or no work to accomplish this – are ones you should avoid.  Many of these may promise to be a ‘turnkey solution’, or a ‘business-in-a-box’.  (Most likely, the only one who is really successful with these methods is the first person to do it.  And Google doesn’t like sites with duplicate content to others already out there, and most likely will penalize these sites (that aren’t the original one) in their natural search engine rankings.)

Any successful online venture requires at least some work; if you treat it like the business it is, and invest in the right training, time and proper focus, you will do well.  And since it’s your business, you will be the one to reap the rewards – and running it can be a lot of fun, too!  When you work for yourself and not someone else, this will increase your motivation to succeed, and that motivation builds the momentum to power your business.

I have reviewed many of these programs, including the most popular, and have had varying results with them.  Some are very good, some are mediocre, and others are just plain bad.  Below are the ones I actually recommend if you want to get started – as well as some to avoid.

Depending on your budget and level of commitment, at least one of these programs will probably meet your needs.  Some are membership programs, while others are one-time purchase products or courses which may provide access to additional resources. I have grouped these by category for ease of use.

Recommended Wealth Programs

>> Category: Membership Programs

#1) Wealthy Affiliate (Top Pick)

Wealthy AffiliateWealthy Affiliate is the best source of internet marketing education available online.  It is superior to many other “make money” programs for several reasons:

1) The content is current, continually updated, and shows what’s working now – not what was working several years ago.

2) There is a large community of users that are active on the forums, contributing to the education of other members, and provide a great opportunity for networking and Joint Ventures with each other.

3) The training, tools and education are top-notch.  Instead of just providing an e-book, Wealthy Affiliate give you tools for keyword and niche product research, website creation, free web hosting, video and written training, free personal coaching, and the best affiliate marketing forums on the internet.

#2) Affiliate Classroom 2.0 (Recommended)

Affiliate Classroom

Affiliate Classroom 2.0 is the brainchild of Anik Singal, a full time affiliate marketer that made a successful living online by creating and promoting information products for several years, before he started teaching others how to do so.  His first Affiliate Classroom program was a phenomenal success, and started many people in making their first money online.  He has just re-launched the program with all-new content, tools, a membership area, and more.

Affiliate classroom 2.0 shows you not only what to do online, but how to do it.  Many programs might give you the ‘what’, but not the ‘how’.  The education and training in Affiliate Classroom 2.0 is designed to meet that need, and includes step-by-step video, audio, and text/screenshot instruction to show you exactly what to do from square one.  The information is grouped classroom style (thus the name), with 100-level courses teaching the basics, 200-level for the intermediate steps – all the way up to advanced (400-level) methods and practices.

They also have real world examples and case studies, great tools, exclusive webinars, and are continually adding content on a weekly basis.

Affiliate Classroom 2.0 Test Drive | $1 Trial Offer The program is more expensive than Wealthy Affiliate, but also has a 10-Day $1 Trial Offer which gives you full access to all materials, and lets you decide for yourself whether to continue with the program or not.  If for no other reason, I suggest you spend a dollar and start reviewing their training and educational materials, which are very good.  It may be the best $1 you ever spend.

#1) 4-Day Money Making Blueprint (Top Pick)

4 Day Money Making BlueprintWant to get started with Affiliate Marketing? Don’t have a lot of money to do so?  Then the 4-Day Money Making Blueprint is for you.  This program teaches you everything you need to know to make money online using Article Marketing (also known as Bum Marketing).  These are entirely free methods, and require only your time to implement.

What makes this program different is that the how is documented to the nth degree.  It puts the process into a highly repeatable series of steps – in other words, a true system for promoting products (and your own blogs and websites) through articles. The e-book itself is great – and, there are 25 videos (over 15 hours) walking you through the process from beginning to end.  No other program covers the process of article marketing in such detail.  Even if you’re only a mediocre writer, you can still make very good money using this method.  And this program will help you to improve your writing, as well as showing you how to do effective marketing.

As this is one of the pillars of internet marketing, learning how to do this properly will help you in all other aspects of your business. Getting a firm foundation in article marketing will help to drive free traffic and generate sales for your affiliate marketing business.  And, the very first income you earn using the methods in the 4 Day Money Making Blueprint can be used to fund your other affiliate marketing efforts – website design and creation, pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns, product creation and promotion, and more.

Article marketing is where I got my start, and I suggest you do so as well.  It’s easier than you think, gives you a firm foundation in the concepts, and will have you making your first money online – without needing a website, your own product, or spending money to do so.  To find out more, read my full 4-Day Money Making Blueprint Review.

#2) The Rich Jerk (Recommended)

TheRich Jerk

The Rich Jerk was one of the first programs I bought that taught me methods to make money online that actually worked.  I owe a fair amount of my success to the concepts and ideas therein.  While I still rate it highly, the information in the book isn’t updated as often as it could be. Fortunately, many of the concepts are timeless, and work just as well today as when they were first written.

While the e-book is still decent, my recommendation these days is based to no small degree on the quality of the Rich Jerk forums.  If anything, it is the forums that helped me develop the methods discussed in the book into full fledged revenue producing businesses.  Many six and seven figure a year internet entrepreneurs are members, and contribute to the forums regularly. I still return to the forums on a regular basis to learn what people are doing, what works, and what doesn’t.

And with the book now under $10 (purchasing it grants you access to the private forums), it’s probably the cheapest source of good affiliate marketing information on the internet. This helped to get me started (along with Wealthy Affiliate), and is why I still recommend it to others wanting to do the same.

Programs You Should Avoid

Ewen Chia One of the issues with products teaching affiliate marketing is that a few folks will simply copy other products, change the wording a bit, and call it their own – without giving you any real information that is original. If you’re brand new to internet marketing, then a few of these products may indeed teach you some of the basics – but, there are other programs out there that do a better and more complete job (such as some of the ones I recommend above).  And without a reference point, you probably won’t know the difference – and may think they’re actually pretty good, if it’s your first introduction to the concepts.

One of these copycats is named Ewen Chia.  I’ve reviewed some of his products in the past, and have even picked up some good tips from some of them.  However, for the past couple of years, he seems to have been resting on his laurels, and his recent products have been mostly rehashed content from earlier ones.  Fortunately for us, he brands all his products with his name, so they’re easy to spot.

What Ewen is really good at nowadays is writing (or paying someone to write) the sales copy on his product sites.  After reading one of his sales letters, you’ll probably want to buy.  Yes, they’ve got great sales copy.  As for the actual product quality – not so much.  So if you see his name out there on something, do yourself a favor and save your money for something else.
